The three things
The form on the mock-up page asks for your business name, where to find you on Google Maps, and an email address or other way to reach you. You can also pick the kind of business you run, which helps us choose a fitting look. That is it. You can finish it on your phone in about a minute.
How to find your Google Maps link
If you have a Google profile for your business, the link is easy to get. Open Google Maps on your phone or computer and search for your business name. When your listing opens, tap or click Share, then copy the link. Paste it into the form.
If you cannot find it, send your business address instead. We will find you.
What helps if you want to add it
The form works without any extra detail. If you want to give us a nudge, these things are useful, and all are optional.
- The kind of business you run, if the list does not guess it.
- A look you like, such as bright and friendly or quiet and serious.
- Whether your customers speak English, Spanish or both.
- A site you admire, to help us aim.
Three common mix-ups
The first is sending an Instagram link instead of a Maps link. Instagram shows your posts, but we need your Google listing. The second is picking the wrong location when you have more than one. Say which one the homepage is for. The third is using a nickname. Use the business name as it appears on Google, so we find the right place.
What you do not need to send
No photos, no logo, no copy, no login, no passwords and no payment details. We work from what is already public on your Google profile, which includes your name, your reviews, your services and your photos. If you have not claimed or filled in a profile, tell us in the form and we will say what else would help.
After you send it
A person makes the mock-up and emails it to you, usually within a day or two. If it is going to take longer, we say so. You get a picture of your homepage and a short note. Reply if you want to talk about the full site. Ignore it if you do not.
Your details are used only to make the mock-up and to reply to you. We never sell them.
Can I send it from my phone?
Yes, and it is the easiest way. Open your listing in Google Maps, tap Share, copy the link, and paste it into the form. It takes about a minute, and nothing needs to be saved or attached.
