Privacy policy

Rematch is made by Zossoz, Inc. (“Zossoz,” “we,” “us”). Rematch is built on a simple rule: your game nights are yours, and we never see them.

The short version

• Rematch has no account and no sign-up.
• We operate no servers and collect no personal data.
• Rematch requests no device permissions — no camera, microphone, photos, contacts, or location.
• Games, players, and nights live only on your device, unless you choose to share one via your own iCloud.
• No ads, no analytics, no tracking, no data sales. Ever.

What Rematch stores, and where

Your games, players, house rules, and every night you’ve logged are stored locally on your device, in the app’s own storage. We have no servers of our own, and nothing is ever sent to Zossoz. The one exception is iCloud sharing, described next — that traffic goes to Apple’s iCloud servers, under your Apple ID, never to Zossoz.

Sharing a game or night via iCloud

If you choose to share a single game, night, bracket, or league, Rematch uses Apple’s CloudKit to create a private iCloud share for that one item — never your whole library. Only the records needed for that item (its rules, players, and scores) are copied into the share; everything else stays on your device. People you invite see the shared item through their own iCloud account and can log scores that sync back to you. This requires you to be signed in to iCloud; if you never use sharing, no data ever leaves your device. Leaving or stopping a share does not delete anything stored locally. Your private notes are never included in a share, no matter what you share.

Widgets and Live Activities

Rematch’s Home Screen widget and Live Activity (the in-progress darts scoreboard on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island) read a small, on-device snapshot of your current standings, streaks, and leg scores. That snapshot is written by the app to a private App Group container shared only between Rematch and its widget — it never leaves your device and the widget cannot write back into your data.

Siri and Shortcuts

Rematch offers a few actions to Siri and the Shortcuts app (for example, logging a play or checking a defending champion). These run entirely on-device against the same local data the app uses, with no new data collected and no network involved.

On-device intelligence

Optional features — a drafted night recap, a rivalry line on a share card — run entirely on your device using Apple’s on-device Apple Intelligence models, on iPhones that support it. Nothing about your games is ever transmitted to Zossoz or any third party. If your device doesn’t support Apple Intelligence, or it’s turned off, these features are simply hidden.

Sharing a recap

A night’s recap card leaves the app only when you explicitly share it — by Messages, AirDrop, or any other share sheet destination you pick. Rematch never shares anything on its own.

Purchases

Rematch Pro is an optional, one-time in-app purchase that unlocks unlimited concurrent brackets/leagues, multi-board tournaments, and PDF exports. It’s handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit — Zossoz never sees your payment details. You can restore a previous purchase at any time from Settings using “Restore Purchases,” and the unlock is included under Family Sharing.

What we don’t do

• No analytics or tracking SDKs of any kind.
• No advertising, and no data sales — we have nothing to sell.
• No collection of names, emails, contacts, or identifiers.

Children

Rematch is not directed at children under 13 and, consistent with the rest of this policy, collects no personal information from anyone.

Deleting your data

Delete individual items in the app at any time. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data.

Changes to this policy

If Rematch’s behavior ever changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this policy and note the new effective date above before the change ships.
