Help with rewriting messages, setting up the keyboard and understanding what Pro adds.
- How do I rewrite a message?
- Paste or type your draft in ToneFix, choose a tone, and tap to rewrite. A word-by-word comparison shows exactly what changed, and you can ask for it shorter, warmer or more direct in one tap, and undo just as fast.
- Will it change my names, numbers or dates?
- It is built not to. After every rewrite, ToneFix checks that each name, number and date from your draft is still there, and warns you if one went missing.
- How do I turn on the keyboard?
- Open the Settings app, go to General, then Keyboard, then Keyboards, and tap Add New Keyboard. Choose ToneFix, then tap it in the list and switch on Allow Full Access. In any app, hold the globe key to switch to ToneFix.
- Why does the keyboard ask for Full Access?
- ToneFix needs it to read the text you want rewritten and replace it. The keyboard stores no keystrokes and sends nothing off your phone.
- Does ToneFix work in other apps?
- Yes. Use the keyboard, or the share sheet to rewrite text from any app, including text read from a screenshot. There are also Shortcuts actions, such as Rewrite Text and Rewrite Clipboard.
- Why are some rewrites not available on my phone?
- AI rewrites need Apple Intelligence, which is on iPhone 15 Pro and newer, and on every iPhone 16 and 17, running iOS 26.2 or later. On other phones, a built-in rewriter still handles Shorter, Clearer, Remove Fluff and More Confident.
- What is free and what is ToneFix Pro?
- Every tone, every built-in preset and up to two of your own are free. ToneFix Pro is a one-time purchase, with no subscription, that adds unlimited custom tones and presets, Learn My Voice and iCloud sync across your devices.
- What is Learn My Voice?
- Give ToneFix three samples of how you really write, and it builds a custom tone that sounds like you rather than a template. It is part of Pro.
- I paid for ToneFix before it was free. Do I have to pay again?
- No. If you paid for the earlier version, Pro is already yours. If it does not show as unlocked, open Settings in ToneFix and tap Restore Purchases while signed in to the Apple ID you paid with.
- How do I contact support?
- Email support@zossoz.com with your iPhone model, iOS version and what you were rewriting. A person replies by email.
