Answers about adding recipe cards, scaling, printing a cookbook and sharing with family.
- How do I add a handwritten recipe card?
- Tap add, choose Scan Card, and photograph the card. The photo stays with the recipe forever, and you can type the ingredients and steps beside it. On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, Retype This Card reads the photo and drafts the ingredients, steps and quantities for you. Nothing is saved until you review it and say so.
- How do I double a recipe or make half of it?
- Change the servings on the recipe. Every quantity recalculates in proper fractions, so you see ½ cup rather than 0.5.
- What is The Box?
- The Box groups your recipes by the person who gave them to you. Open someone's name to see everything they contributed, or browse every recipe in the tin at once.
- How do I print a family cookbook?
- Open People, pick a person or the whole tin, and tap Export Cookbook to build a typeset PDF you can print. Exporting a single recipe as a PDF is always free. The full cookbook export needs the one-time Recipe Tin Cookbook unlock.
- What is free and what needs the unlock?
- Unlimited recipes, card photos, scanning, multiple photos per card, Cook Mode, search, the servings scaler, single-recipe PDFs, backing up your whole tin, sending a recipe, Siri and Spotlight are all free. The one-time Recipe Tin Cookbook unlock adds importing from a web link or from Paprika, the full cookbook export, and the Apple Intelligence tools. There is no subscription.
- Can I import recipes from a website?
- Yes, with the unlock. Paste a link into Import from a Link and tap Get Recipe. Recipe Tin fetches only the page you pasted and nothing else.
- Can I keep my tin on more than one device?
- Turn on Sync My Tin with iCloud in Settings. It is off until you switch it on, and your tin goes only into your own private iCloud. You can also share a single shopping list with family. Only that list is shared, and only with the people you invite.
- How do I back up my recipes?
- Use Back Up the Whole Tin to save everything as a file you can keep anywhere. It is free.
- How do I restore my purchase, or contact support?
- In Settings, tap Restore Purchases while signed in to the Apple ID you bought with. For anything else, email support@zossoz.com and a person will reply by email.
